What does it feel like?

It's 4 weeks and 4 days since my last menstrual period (LMP). According to what I’ve read on www.netmums.com and other websites, the baby is the size of a poppy seed.

I told this to my partner and he said that maybe we should name her Poppy if it’s a girl. I don’t mind that name but I can’t imagine an adult called Poppy, can you? I think it’s more of a nickname... Having said that, Jamie Oliver’s daughter is called Poppy... Anyway, too early to start thinking about that!

When I was trying to conceive (TTC), I kept on reading about different pregnancy symptoms and I imagined that I would get all of them as soon as I am pregnant. Well, it is quite different.

I do feel tired but working 7 days a week, what do you expect? I had no sickness so far (touching wood). I think my breasts are a bit bigger but not painful yet. I can smell and taste everything much more. I had a roast beef dinner on Sunday and absolutely loved it! I couldn’t have enough of it!

The next day I had beef sandwiches again and was so happy! Even the apples taste extra sweet! My tummy looks bloated as if I was having my period and I do feel some mild cramps. Another thing is that I’m going to the loo very often and wake up during the night too.

Oh and something I like is that I’ve got rosy cheeks (no need for blusher) which I’ve read it’s normal because there is more blood pumping in your body. It’s silly but every time I look at myself in the mirror, I can’t help smiling. I feel like the baby is saying, ‘hi mum, I’m still here’.

Apart from that, everything seems fine luckily but I am getting very impatient. My hormones are making me very grumpy for no reason so poor Gareth, he is trying to deal with me in the best way. I want the baby (or babies) to be born now! I can’t wait until July 2012!
